Most commonly consumed quality after Japanese Sencha. Typically large whole green leaf, medium bodied in cup, with a pale green liquor and a moderate fresh flavor and taste. Bancha only contains quite low caffeine. Everyday life in Japan would be unthinkable without this tea plucked in late summer. Subject to global limited availability.

The harvest takes place towards the end of the growing season which yields a thicker, fibrous leaf and a lower caffeine content. The large leaf, the tangy, slightly bitter taste as well as its low caffeine content are characteristic of the Japan Bancha. The Japanese cannot imagine their daily life without this tea! Taste: light, with a pleasing, slightly tangy note.Water temperature: 75 – 80°C
